The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various machines, ensuring the smooth and efficient production process. In this role, you will follow established procedures, monitor machine performance, and maintain product quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Set up, operate, and maintain machines according to established procedures and guidelines, ensuring that production deadlines are met.
2. Monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to speed, feed, and other settings to maintain product quality and minimize downtime.
3. Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and prevent malfunctions.
4. Inspect and measure finished products, verifying conformance to specifications and quality standards, and reporting any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
5. Maintain accurate records of production, machine settings, and maintenance activities for effective communication and continuous improvement efforts.
6. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
7. Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to optimize production efficiency and overall team performance.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machine operation is a plus.
2. At least 1-2 years of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge of machine operation principles, safety procedures, and basic maintenance tasks.
4. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and address issues that may affect product quality or machine performance.
5. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Basic math and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or work instructions.
7. Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
